Job Description:
Jeff Leong, Poon & Wong (Penang Branch) is looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Legal Associate to join our Litigation team.
Job Description
1. Handle a broad range of civil and commercial litigation and arbitration matters, including contract, corporate, banking, insolvency and construction disputes
2. Conduct and present well thought through legal researches
3. Draft, prepare and file cause papers, affidavits, written submissions, correspondence and other documents independently or with minimal supervision
4. Attend case managements, and assist in trials, hearings, appeals, meetings and other related work
5. Support partners in strategising and managing cases
6. Act with integrity and in the best interests of our firm’s legal practice

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with strong academic credentials.
2. Preferably minimum 4 years PQE in dispute resolution/litigation.
3. Committed, meticulous and proactive in management of cases.
4. Excellent command of English & Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken. Mandarin will be an advantage.
5. Strong analytical, research and drafting skills.
6. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
7. Self-motivated, disciplined, capable of working independently and a strong believer in teamwork

Our founder partners were part of a regional cross border team of a law firm in South-East-Asia with experience in cross border investments, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions and capital markets.
