Job Description:
Conveyancing Lawyer

1. Drafting and preparing Sale and Purchase Agreements, loan documentation, and related instruments;
2. Preparing and lodging land office documents;
3. Liaising with relevant authorities (e.g. land offices, Inland Revenue Board, local councils, and financial institutions);
4. Attending to completion, redemption, and registration matters;
5. Conducting legal research and preparing written legal opinions as required;
6. Liaising and communicating with clients, government authorities, and other stakeholders; and
7. Managing own files with a reasonable degree of independence, reporting to the partner on file progress and key decisions.


The Pupil in Chambers will work closely with the partner and be involved in a wide range of litigation and conveyancing matters, including:
1. Assisting in conveyancing matters, including drafting and preparing sale and purchase agreements, land office documents, CKHT forms, and related documentation;
2. Assisting in litigation matters, including drafting correspondence, cause papers, applications, and affidavits, attending court, and supporting the legal team at all stages of proceedings;
3. Conducting legal research and preparing written opinions when required; and
4. Liaising and communicating with clients, government authorities, and relevant stakeholders.
This position offers meaningful exposure to active files and the opportunity to develop strong practical legal skills.


Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Meticulous, organised, and able to work independently;
2. Strong communication and legal research skills;
3. Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English. Ability to converse in Chinese is an added advantage;
4. Competent in Microsoft Office; and
5. Able to commence work on short notice.
