Pupil

KLANG, WILAYAH PERSEKUTUAN KUALA LUMPUR

Our pupils are not assigned to a single department for the full period. The pupillage is structured as three rotational seats, so that each pupil leaves with a working view of three genuinely different paths in practice before deciding which to pursue.

Seat 1: Conveyancing and Real Estate

• To assist in the preparation and completion of sale and purchase, loan and security documentation
• To attend to searches, stamping, presentation and registration, and to track matters through to completion
• To liaise with clients, bankers, land offices and relevant authorities under supervision

Seat 2: Corporate and Commercial

• To assist in drafting and reviewing commercial agreements and transaction documents
• To carry out legal due diligence and to prepare due diligence findings
• To conduct research on regulatory and compliance questions arising in transactions

Seat 3: Litigation and Dispute Resolution

• To attend Case Management, Hearings and/or Trials with our lawyers
• To assist in drafting Cause Papers, written submissions and legal opinions
• To conduct case law and statutory research and to prepare research notes

What We Offer

• Direct learning from the partners and senior associates. In a team of our size there is no layer between a pupil and the person actually running the matter
• Three rotational seats rather than a single department, so the choice of practice area at the end of pupillage is an informed one

• Law graduates who have completed, or are about to complete, the CLP or a qualifying law degree, and who are eligible to be admitted as a pupil under the Legal Profession Act 1976
• Strong English and working proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia, both essential
• An ownership mindset. We are looking for someone who treats a matter as theirs to carry, not merely to pass along
• A growth mindset. Willingness to be corrected, to seek out feedback, and to treat difficulty as the point of the exercise rather than a setback
• Self-driven, with a demonstrated habit of learning rather than waiting to be taught
• Adaptable, able to move between seats, subject matters and working styles without losing pace
• Open and eager to work with AI and legal technology tools, and equally clear that every output must be checked, sourced and verified before it is relied on
• Able to work within a small and closely knit team
