About the Role – Employment Associate
We are looking for a dedicated lawyer to join our employment practice group, reporting directly to Donovan Cheah. In this role, you will work closely with our clients, providing strategic and practical advice on a wide range of employment law matters.
Key Responsibilities :-
• Representing employers in unfair dismissal claims at the
Industrial Court, as well as handling related appeals and judicial reviews.
• Representing employers in other types of employment disputes, including civil claims.
• Providing pre-dispute advisory, including:
o Workforce downsizing, restructuring, and reorganization exercises.
o Dismissal management for misconduct or poor performance, including advising on domestic inquiries and
performance improvement plans.
o Advising on allegations of constructive dismissal.
• Reviewing and drafting employment-related documents, such as employment agreements, handbooks, policies, procedures, and correspondence.
• Advising on day-to-day HR and employment law issues, ensuring compliance and best practices.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Requirements :-
• Advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya
• 1-2 years of uninterrupted legal practice in employment law.
• Must have experience in employment litigation, ie: representing employers at Industrial Court and/or the Labour Court, or appearing before the civil courts for employment related civil claims, appeals and/or judicial review. If shortlisted, you are expected to demonstrate this experience and showcase your technical knowledge of employment law during the interview.
• Must have experience in dealing with clients from diverse backgrounds including start-ups, small-medium enterprises and multinational corporations.
• Strong command of English, with the ability to write concisely and with clarity. You may be asked to show a sample of your work product.

Salary and Benefits :-
• Up to RM6,500 basic salary depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications
• Parking allowance

• Flexible work arrangements (minimum 2 days in office per week)
• Additional benefits and allowances with seniority, as part of career progression
