Job Description:
1. Assist in the provision of advisory services and support to Business/Corporate Units and their teams by drafting, reviewing and/or negotiating financing documents, construction contracts, IT contracts, sales and marketing terms and conditions, consultancy and service agreements and disputes.
2. Assist in managing and monitoring corporate services litigation and construction matters including dispute resolution and legal advisory work, reviewing cause papers and liaising with external solicitors while providing regular updates on the litigation matters to Senior Management.
3. Research on legal cases, updates and legislations to keep abreast of applicable laws relating to Setia Group’s business and operations and advice on the impact including necessary compliance due to such changes or updates.
4. Provide administrative support to the Corporate Services team, including monitoring progress of ongoing legal matters and maintain proactive approach to follow-up on outstanding issues
5. To liaise with and coordinate with appointed external solicitors and consultants (if any).
6. Report to and support the General Counsel to ensure all duties assigned and undertaken are carried out in accordance with applicable laws/regulations and Setia Group’s policies and procedures.
7. Any other duties and ad hoc assignments as assigned by the General Counsel from time to time.

Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in law or equivalent.
2. A minimum of 2 to 3 years' post-qualification experience gained either in legal practice, an in-house corporate position, or a combination of both.
3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
4. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse team environment.
5. Analytical, proactive, and resourceful approach to problem-solving and achieving solutions.
6. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality.
7. High level of integrity, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
8. A pleasant team player who fosters a positive work environment.
9. Solid understanding of Company laws and court rules.
