Job Description:
CONVEYANCING ASSOCIATE
• Able to draft various corporate agreements including but not limited to company & commercial agreements.
• Experienced in mergers & acquisitions.
• Experienced in corporate-based projects and commercials.
• Must have excellent interpersonal and organization skills, work well in a team environment and complete assignments in a timely manner.
• Able to communicate, handling and attending negotiations on behalf of clients.
• Must be able to work independently with a high motivation and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Must have a positive, responsible, committed, good interpersonal skills and willingness to learn.
• Prepare a report as regards the status of the file.
LITIGATION ASSOCIATE
• Preparing all documents required to file cases, including briefs and other court documents
• Working closely with team members to prepare a comprehensive brief on each case that goes to trial
• Scheduling and conducting depositions of witnesses and experts
• Researching legal concepts, case law, judicial opinions, statutes and regulations
• Providing proper legal citation and statutory interpretation
• Maintaining accurate case files, notes and reports
• Negotiating cases to meet the needs of the firm and the client
• Making sure all parties are carrying out their court order sentence and paying the necessary fines.
• Writing legal documents such as contracts, lawsuits, deeds, wills and appeals
PUPILLAGE
Requirements
• Degree in Law, LLB.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to learn, take initiative, and work in a team-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Legal Research & Drafting.
• Conduct in-depth legal research using online databases and legal resources.
• Prepare legal opinions, case summaries, and memoranda.
• Assist in drafting pleadings, cause papers, affidavits, submissions, and other legal documents.
Court Attendance
• Attend court proceedings (e.g. mentions, case management, hearings) with assigned lawyers.
• Take notes and prepare cause lists, hearing briefs, and follow-up action plans.
• Observe and learn court etiquette and procedural rules.
Client & Case Management
• Assist lawyers in client interviews, taking instructions, and managing client documentation.
• Organise and maintain case files and track deadlines and updates.
• Assist in preparing status reports and updates for clients and partners.
Administrative Duties
• Liaise with court staff, commissioners for oaths, and government departments when required.
• File and serve court documents.
• Support day-to-day operations including photocopying, printing, and document collation.
Training & Development
• Attend internal training sessions, seminars, and case discussions.
• Participate in firm events, legal forums, and Bar-related activities.
• Prepare for admission to the Bar by gaining exposure to various practice areas.
