Job Description:
Trainee Associate (Pupil in Chambers)
— Dispute Resolution Team, Kuala Lumpur (Mont’ Kiara)
(a) Assist Partners and Associates in managing active litigation and arbitration matters
(b) Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, submissions, and compile court documents.
(c) Attend court hearings, client meetings, and case management.
(d) Participate in internal training and knowledge management programmes.
(e) Support case preparation and client advisory work.
Secretary
— Dispute Resolution Team, Kuala Lumpur (Mont’ Kiara)
(a) Provide administrative and secretarial support to the Partners and Associates in the Dispute Resolution Team.
(b) Prepare, format, and proofread court documents, correspondence, and filings.
(c) Manage scheduling, diary entries, and coordination of court hearings and deadlines.
(d) Maintain case files, e-filing systems, and ensure orderly and confidentiality of records.
(e) Liaise with court officers, clients, and external parties on procedural matters.
(f) Assist in billing, document tracking, and client updates.
Administrative & Client Liaison Officer
— Forest City Office, Johor Bahru (expected to commence operations in 2026)
(a) Oversee daily office operations and administrative functions at the new IKC Forest City branch once operational.
(b) Serve as the first point of contact for walk-in clients, visitors, and external parties, ensuring a professional and welcoming experience.
(c) Act as a liaison between clients and our Kuala Lumpur and Johor offices, ensuring smooth coordination, communication, and timely follow-up on all matters.
(d) Handle correspondence, calls, and inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality.
(e) Maintain office organisation, including document management, filing systems, and logistical support.
(f) Liaise with vendors, service providers, and building management to ensure operational efficiency.
(g) Support firm events, meetings, travel arrangements, and compliance documentation.
(h) Participate in the setup and operational readiness of the Forest City office, including initial administrative, coordination, and client communication functions.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Trainee Associate (Pupil in Chambers)
(a) Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) with at least Second Class Upper.
(b) Strong command of English and Bahasa Malaysia (both written and spoken); Mandarin is an advantage.
(c) Excellent analytical, research, and drafting skills.
(d) Self-motivated, diligent, and a strong team player.
(e) Genuine interest in dispute resolution and litigation practice.
Secretary (Dispute Resolution)
(a) Prior experience in a law firm or litigation department is an advantage.
(b) Strong command of English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is a plus.
(c) Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and document formatting.
(d) Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines.
(e) Discreet, responsible, and professional in communication.
Administrative & Client Liaison Officer (Planned 2026 Setup)
(a) Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Office Management, Communications, or a related field.
(b) 1–3 years of administrative, coordination, or client service experience preferred.
(c) Fluency in both English and Mandarin is compulsory; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage.
(d) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in engaging clients and colleagues across offices.
(e) Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital/cloud-based filing systems.
(f) Highly organised, proactive, and responsible, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
(g) A positive, service-oriented attitude with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
