Job Description:
Banking & Finance Lawyer (2–4 Years PQE)
Location: Kuala Lumpur / Johor Bahru
Salary Range: RM7,500 – RM9,500 per month

Key Responsibilities:

- Drafting and reviewing facility agreements and security documents;
- Advising on banking regulatory and compliance issues;
- Conducting legal due diligence and preparing legal opinions;
- Assisting with structuring and executing financing transactions;
- Liaising with clients, external counsel, and financial institutions; and
- Assisting with and participating in the Firm’s business development and marketing efforts, including client pitches, attending and speaking at seminars, researching and writing articles and attending business related functions.

Pupil
Location: Kuala Lumpur
Allowance: RM4,500 per month

Key Responsibilities:

- Assisting and supporting partners and associates in client matters, in particular assisting with drafting, legal research, and preparing documentation;
- Participating in client meetings and calls, and other ad hoc tasks;
- Preparing fee proposals;
- Participating actively in the Firm’s learning and development initiatives; and
- Assisting with and participating in the Firm’s business development and marketing efforts, including client pitches, researching and writing articles and attending business related functions.



Qualifications and Requirements:
Banking & Finance Lawyer

- Candidate must possess a Law degree (LL.B) from a reputable school with strong academic track record, and be admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaysia;
- 2 to 4 years PQE in banking and finance, preferably from a reputable law firm;
- Ability to work independently;
- Strong legal drafting and analytical capabilities;
- Familiarity with Malaysian financial regulations;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Fluent in written and spoken Bahasa Malaysia and English; proficiency in Mandarin will be added as advantage;
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and transactions effectively;
- Self-motivated and results-oriented with a passion for innovation and developing new ways of supporting client-facing lawyers in the firm; and
- Highest standards of professional ethics, integrity and judgment.

Pupil

- Having completed or is about to complete at least one of the following:
> the Malaysian Public University Law Degree recognized by the Legal Profession Qualifying Board;
> the Bar Course (BVS, BTC, BPC, etc.); or
> the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP);
- Having achieved a minimum 2:1 (Upper Second-Class Honours) or equivalent in your degree;
- Having a passion for law and possessing strong legal research skills, a good dose of common sense, entrepreneurial mindset, and outstanding interpersonal skills;
- Meticulous and responsible;
- Proficient in written and spoken Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mandarin (a plus); and
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office suite.
