Job Description:
Formulate policy and provide technical input to legal drafting to ensure sound and robust regulatory framework.

Engage with internal stakeholders to ensure robustness of policy formulation and law reform programmes.

Participate in consultations and engagements with external parties/ agencies/ministries to ensure effective regulation of capital market.

Analyse other relevant laws and assess its impact on SC's operations and advise on solutions for Management's consideration.


Qualifications and Requirements:
Professional qualification or Degree in Law or its equivalent.

Minimum 6 to 9 years of experience with knowledge in securities laws, legal advisory, research, financial markets and other areas of laws.

Preferably with experience in litigation & exposure to a broad spectrum of laws. Good understanding of the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007 (CMSA).

Have attributes to meet unique challenges, including stakeholder management and analytical skills.

Overview of Organisation:
The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) is a capital market regulator. Established on 1 March 1993 under the Securities Commission Act 1993, we are a self-funding statutory body set up under the Ministry of Finance with investigative and enforcement powers. Our ultimate responsibility is to protect the investors.

We also register prospectuses of corporations and funds, approve corporate bond issues and regulate corporate mergers and acquisitions. Apart from discharging its regulatory functions, the SC is also obliged by statute to encourage and promote the development of the securities and derivatives markets in Malaysia.
